How does this guy have the time to do anything, much less blog? I'm not complaining of course -- I am such an Achatz fan that it's almost silly (though, I promise, not in anyway stalkerish...just a big fan).   Well worth the read as Grant is not only thoughtful and creative, but very articulate.

Remembering A Past Birthday

Have to go to school on my birthday -- no big deal, though I wish I was going to be home all day. Anyway, I was thinking about some birthdays past and one that sticks out in my memory was eating with our good friends Maggie B and Don C at Hammersley's in Boston in 2004. Maggie made custom floral arrangements that were on our table when we sat down. I think the biggest thing we miss about Boston is the two of them.

Now Talk About Lack Of Attribution...

Wow. The last post drifted from the flatiron steak to a discussion of culinary plagiarism. So, the timing of this situation at Chez Pim is remarkably coincidental. If you don't know Chez Pim, stop by and take a look at the coverage of meals at restaurants like El Bulli and WD-50. The pictures are really well done. A site worthy of a spot on your bookmark list.

Apparently, it appears that someone has helped themselves to a five-finger discount. Viz:

"This particular one I just found, Voncigars, is much worse. This guy took my post on Paco Meralgo, a tapas bar in Barcelona, and reposted the pictures and shamelessly edited the post texts into his own voice –so that it appears that he himself was the one who visited the tapas bar, ate the meal, and wrote the review. All that with not a mention of Chez Pim as the source for anything on that post."

Edited into his own voice? Like I said before: Wow.
